TEZCATL, THE AD | INSTALLATION
My role: Editor
I was lucky to work with artist Gloria López Cleries and my pal Zane Miller on an installation piece meant to mimic contemporary, Silicon Valley advertising language as a hyperbolic commercial for an ancient, obsidian-based artifact. From the artist’s words:
TETZCAL, THE AD (SOUND AND COLOR, 2025) centers on a hand-carved obsidian sculpture, shaped like an iPhone 7, which reimagines the smartphone as a techno-mystical artifact, a tool of vision and prophecy that evokes the symbolism of Aztec divinatory mirrors.
